DONKEY KONG LAND

Donkey Kong Land is a platform game for Game boy. Play as Donkey Kong (an ape) or his trusty sidekick, Diddy Kong (a chimp). Explore multiple worlds filled with many different enemies. Donkey Kong Land has so many outrageous objectives to complete such as collecting bananas, attacking enemies with barrels, rolling over foes to destroy them, and much, much, more! The graphics are not great because this game was designed for the original Game boy which was made in 1989, but it is still an excellent game.

In my opinion Donkey Kong Land falls in the category of irreplaceable games like Super Mario Bros. and Tetris. Donkey Kong Land is entertaining and proves exceedingly difficult. Many people share my view that this is a great game because it won the Players Choice Award and sold over a million copies.

Donkey Kong Land will always be considered rare because Game boy games are no longer manufactured. It is probably impossible to find Donkey Kong Land in most stores but it can be found on ebay and amazon.

The year is 1944. The second World War is over, leaving millions dead. A select group is attempting to use Dracula's magic in order to take over his castle and following that, the world. The leader of the group is Brauner, a vampire that has lost his powers and his two daughters in the first World War. Stella and Loretta, two vampire twins who are the reincarnations of Brauner's daughters.

Play as Jonathan Morris, an eighteen year old cheeky guy or as Charlotte Aulin, a sixteen year old book worm with incredible magic abilities. If a player plays as Jonathan, they can use weapons and they can also use Sub-Weapons like axes. If a player plays as Charlotte, they can use spell book attacks or magic spells.

With so many worlds and portals to enter, the game will keep you playing until the end. This game is really challenging but really fun. There are so many bosses. Some are very easy and some are extremely challenging. Portrait of Ruin is the second game of the Castlevania DS series. The graphics are not great but during dialog scenes the art is hand-drawn animae.

Portrait of Ruin can be purchased at most game stores and amazon and ebay.

CASTLEVANIA DAWN OF SORROW

Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is the first game in the Castlevania DS series. Play as Soma Cruz, a possessed warrior who is the rebirth of Dracula. Soma has developed the power of Dominance which gives a player the abilities of their enemies. His mission is to destroy a clan that is trying to resurrect Dracula.

Dawn of Sorrow is an RPG style game. The graphics are not great but the game has a great, fun, and addicting concept to it.

Dawn of Sorrow has so many modes to play on, there are endless things to do. Modes include game play mode, Julius mode where a player can play as Soma's boss, Boss Rush Mode where a player has to beat every boss in the game without dying, and Wireless mode where a player can trade abilities with friends and battle them.

The game has several abilities that range from the power of throwing bones to stopping time. There are a wide range of weapons, from a pocket knife to the scythe of the grim reaper.

This game can be bought used at most local game stores or off amazon or ebay. I highly recommend this game and I will give it an 8 out of 10.

SUPER MARIO BROS. DELUXE

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a platform game which is for Game boy color. It has many modes to play on including the original version. The only difference is that this version has a save function. In the original, a player can play through eight worlds with four levels per world. Each world has three levels where enemies are fought. The final level of each world is Bowser's Castle (Mario and Luigi's Nemesis). And by simply pressing select, a player can change their character (Mario or Luigi).

Original mode is not all the game has to offer. A player can play challenge mode, which is basically every level in original mode except a player must collect five red coins. At the end of the level a player is evaluated for points, and red coins collected.

The game also includes Super Mario Bros. Deluxe For Super Players. It is a more challenging version of the original but with different courses and levels.

Super Mario Bros. Deluxe also has Game boy printer features (sold separately). A player can comment on photos from game play and print them.

Based on the games age, it is probably unlikely to find a copy in any store but copies can be found on ebay, or amazon.

SCRIBBLENAUTS, THE ONLY LIMIT IS YOUR IMAGINATION

Scribblenauts motto is "write anything, solve everything."

5th Cell, the company that developed Scribblenauts was telling the truth. Play as Maxwell, an imaginative, young child who is determined to be the best Scribblenaut and get every Starite in the world of Scribblenauts.

Play challenge mode, which is stocked with different levels to play on. Challenge mode consists of 10 worlds to play. Each world has two level modes: puzzle and action. At the start of a level, a hint will be given to aid the player. With so many different ways to solve a level, Scribblenauts always stays fresh. If playing on challenge mode is fun, then a player can make their own level on 'level editor' mode! Players can also play the levels they create by selecting 'extra level' mode.

In the world of Scribblenauts, you get rewards just like in real life but instead a player is given merit badges. Badges range from not using a weapon to destroying every living being on a level. In life a job done well rewards you with money, in Scribblenauts there is no difference. Maxwell is awarded 'Ollars' which is the currency in Scribblenauts. With Ollars, a player can purchase avatars or songs to use as soundtracks for their own levels. With two profiles to use, a player can always replay the adventure over and over again.

Although there are many things a player can write, there are some things that can't be written. For example, race, profanity, alcohol, drugs, anything inappropriate, or anything copyrighted cannot be used.

Scribblenauts is a multi-award winning game and has sold more than a million copies. The follow-up to this game is the sequel "Super Scribblenauts."

CASTLEVANIA ORDER OF ECCLESIA

1st boss battle of Order of Ecclesia

Order of Ecclesia is a video game about Shanoa, a supernatural, emotionless, female warrior who's mission is to banish the world of the Demon Lord Dracula.

Based on the game's history from the NES and the Game boy, the graphics and concept of the game have grown. The game has an RPG element to it because a player can equip weapons and cast spells. Order of Ecclesia's design still fits the traditional pixel format, but during dialog  scenes, the art is a 3-D anime style. The game is no longer available at konami.com but can be purchased at most local game stores.

The game is very fast paced and has many objectives to complete. With spells that range from simply throwing axes to controlling the power of darkness, any combination of spells is an advantage. With so many missions to complete, Order of Ecclesia will keep you playing until the ending credits.
